World Experiences are Only Mental Imprints - II
Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha
In this audio, Swamiji says that the mind uses or employs the eyes to see the objects, to grasp them. At the grasping level, the mind is the source and cause. Then, after or in the grasping process, all the objects are imprinted by the mind itself. It is these imprints that one is experiencing.
Once this is understood – there will be Nirapeksha (non-expectation) in the mind. One will think: “Can my mind desire its own imprints? If everything is mental and mind born and mind imprint, then what is there to be desired?” Nirvikarah (unchanging) – one will understand that the mind cannot be affected by its own imprint? This kind of reflection makes the mind cool, comfortable, and calm.
Swamiji urges seekers to make the Buddhi deep and expansive. The only yearning in the mind must be to know the Self, one’s own real nature.
