The inauguration of the Athithi Niketan building took place on August 31st, with Nutan Swamiji arriving at SIRD Malaysia a couple of days earlier, to participate in the celebration.
As instructed by Poojya Swamiji, a small group of devotees gathered early that morning at the new building to chant the Vishnusahasranama five times, sanctifying the entire premises and creating an atmosphere of blessedness, peace, and auspiciousness.
The ceremony commenced with Ma lighting a lamp from Baba’s shrine in the SIRD building, symbolizing the divine light that guides us all, and carrying it in a procession led by Poojya Swamiji to the Athithi Niketan. Following tradition, Poojya Swamiji lit the lamp at the new building, accompanied by the auspicious sounds of the conch, gong, and bell.
Coinciding with Malaysian Independence Day, everyone present sang the national anthem, celebrating patriotism and national pride. Poojya Swamiji then unveiled the plaque of Athithi Niketan using a remote control, amidst the chanting of ‘paropakara slokas’ led by Nutan Swamiji.
Together, Poojya Swamiji, Nutan Swamiji, and Ma gracefully opened the doors of the Athithi Niketan, ushering in benevolence and propitiousness for all future endeavours.
In his benedictory address, Poojya Swamiji shared profound insights, guidance, and blessings, igniting excitement and encouragement in the hearts of all present. Swamiji highlighted the significance of the Annexe in SIRD’s spiritual mission, outlining its vision, direction, and core values.
The SIRD Annexe will serve not only as accommodation for devotees and seekers but also as a venue for CHC classes for children, residential retreat programs, and “Kalvi Maiyam,” – SIRD’s latest initiative aimed at uplifting underprivileged children.
