Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha

01 – by Swami Nirviseshananda Tirtha – Bathing in Upanishadic Wisdom part 1

1174 Views | 2 years ago

This talk is the first in a series of talks given by Nutan Swamiji during the Enlightened Living Retreat at Jamshedpur in 2019. In this talk, Swamiji elucidates the greatness as well as uniqueness of scriptural tradition of our land.

Swamiji describes how our scriptures always gave importance to Tattva (essential truth) than Tathya (data and information). The ancient seers have skillfully mixed myth and truth in their presentations, so that one can extract the Truth and follow it. Tattva or the knowledge about our real identity, alone is the panacea for all problems of life and because of this, our scriptures have an eternal relevance to human life.

Though the vedas talk about rituals as a means to attain various desires, their final and conclusive declaration comes in upanishads, which states that the ultimate fulfillment in life lies in discovering the Self. Nothing from this world can make us happy. All our problems originate from the idea of a limited personality. Once we discover the transcendental nature of Self, it takes away all differential notions and makes us harmonious with the world!

Swamiji will be discussing 'Voice of Upanishads'. The Global Satsang will be based on Kathopanishad and Mundakopanishad. | Live Satsangs with Spiritual Masters on Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday at 8 pm IST/10:30 am EDT/ 10:30 pm MST.
