Ma Gurupriya's Satsang is at once sobering and soothing. Taking us deeper into understanding the stranglehold of raaga-dvesha (clinging to likes and hating dislikes), Ma gives us the means to break free of this ultimate source of mental anguish.
In every interaction, the root of all expectation, irritation, blaming tendencies and any kind of mental agitation, is nothing other than raaga-dvesha. It is this twin evil that is inherent in all of us, seated deeply in undiscovered crevices of our being. But, as Ma points out so lovingly, there is a way to eliminate this source of sorrow. Taking us by the hand, teaching us the verses from scriptures that describe the path as well as what happens once the goal is reached, Ma shows us how to live and become those verses. What keeps us going is Ma's reassurance that yes we will fall - perhaps over and over - but we will, finally, reach.
Verses discussed:
Bhagavad Gita 2.64, 2.65, 5.12, 2.63
Vivekachudamani 552, 536, 542, 3
Vairagya Satakam 91
Niti Satakam 79
