Swamiji begins the talk with a deep and beautiful verse from Sri Govindashtakam. The verse says that Lord Govinda personifies Consciousness, the Supreme bliss. Consciousness is infinite, eternal, it is spatial sentience. Although formless, it manifests in multiple forms and is the ultimate creator, preserver, and destroyer. This sentience is comprehensible only to the human intelligence, not the senses.

Bhaja Govindam urges the seeker to Worship Lord Govinda. In the text, Adi Shankaracharya has presented truths, observations and facts about life, the world, interactions etc. over which a seeker can repeatedly introspect over.

The text urges the spiritual aspirant to introspect on the transient nature of life and the illusory nature of worldly attachments. The verses prompt readers to contemplate on the impermanence of relationships and the necessity of developing dispassion and discrimination.

Swamiji emphasizes on the importance of repeated practice and introspection over the verses and their import. He says that the entire life passes away but no one thinks about the sentient Supreme Reality which sustains the body and the world. The text calls upon everyone to engage in introspection, and cultivate dispassion and discrimination in order to transcend worldly attachments and discover the ultimate reality.
