For many, the word dispassion carries connotations of rejecting the world, of becoming disconnected, of turning cold. Ma Gurupriya not only assures us that it is not so, but shows us by being a living example of wholesome dispassion, how much more inclusive, connected and loving it makes us.
The pursuit for us is to grow in vairagya. Slowly we see that our own body, mind and intelligence – and all the associated thoughts, ideas and habits – are as changeful as everything else in the objective world. The only changeless factor is the Supreme Lord, our real Self. As we drop our attachments to all that is transitory, and anchor ourselves firmly to the imperishable Soul, the cool breeze of dispassion gently soothes the mind, making it light, refreshed and free. With our beloved Spiritual Masters guiding us every step of the way, the entire ocean of the world becomes but “a little bit of water contained in the hoof mark of a calf”.
