Discourses on Vivekachudamani during 48th Annual Delhi Jnana Yajna at CIRD Delhi on 29 March 2024.
Verses 383, 384

In this Global Satsang, Swamiji discusses some profound verses from Vivekachudamani which speak about the nature of the Self and the Sadhana of the seeker. The Atma is the self-luminous presence within, which is the witness of all. It is the no-thought state which is in-between two thoughts.

Making the mind pure (desireless), a seeker must fix it in his own Svaroopa (real nature). He must engage with and introspect on the Witness Self, which is the witness of the body, mind, intelligence, ego, world, grief, jealousy, enjoyment, suffering etc. When the mind starts getting infused in the thought of the Self, automatically the mind become Nishchala (calm, non-moving). This is a state of fullness, where there is no lack or deficiency. This process of engaging with the inner presence makes the mind expansive, full and enriched.

In sleep, one withdraws within and all the activities of the mind and intelligence cease. It is a state of peace, quiet and comfort, where one is in the embrace of the inner presence. All scriptures urge the seeker to bring the same divinity in the wakeful state too. The mind must be able to receive and accept all happiness and misery and assimilate them naturally.

The body, senses, life forces, mind, ego all are unreal. These Upaadhis are a product of ignorance. By virtue of introspection, a seeker must understand the unbroken consciousness, the sentience, the only real presence (Sat). He must know the Self to be free from all the other unreal things like the body, world etc. He must perceive the Soul-dimension which is sky-like. Swamiji urges listeners to know that there is such a realization, which is an awareness and knowledge in the inner hemisphere. When one realizes this inner dimension, the mind becomes pure, magnificent, and lofty.
