Swamiji, in this episode, discusses the value and significance of the beautiful poetic composition—Srimad Bhagavatam.

Listening to or reading Srimad Bhagavatam, a kind of a wholesome spiritual pursuit takes place. One purpose of the text is to penetrate the mind and intelligence of the listener and purify and sublimate it. It facilitates the transformation and liberation of those listening in a focused manner.

Quoting a verse which reveals the purport of the text, Swamiji clarifies that Bhagavatam is not a text of Bhakti or Devotion alone. Srimad Bhagavatam contains the supreme knowledge about the imperishable presence in the body, the Soul. It is a discussion and revelation of the inmost Presence in a human being.

Swamiji takes the listener by hand and guides him step by step to understand the importance of knowledge in human life.
