In this episode, Swamiji continues to explain the benefits of listening to the exposition of Bhagavatam.
Srimad Bhagavatam is a treatise that bestows Knowledge and Dispassion. When we realize that everything in the world, including our body, is perishable, we develop dispassion. By constant exposure to the text, one develops fondness for the Lord. There is an inner enrichment, inner abundance and contentment.
Swamiji starts the discussion of the first shloka which speaks about the Supreme Truth which governs the individual life as well as the universal life. This Consciousness is the substratum of everything. The body, mind and intelligence are changeful but there is one Presence in us which is changeless. Swamiji exhorts us to contemplate on this Supreme Truth.
