Discussing the 4’th Chapter of Bhagavad Gita, Swamiji emphasizes that true Karma Yoga involves performing actions with Yoga Buddhi. He says that Jnana (knowledge) is realizing that one is not the body but the eternal, non-dual essence within.
How is the knowledge attained? It is a transformation that takes place in a seeker’s personality. Just like the rising Sun removes all darkness, the process of jnana transfusion removes the ignorance of a seeker. The words of the teacher, enter the pupil’s heart and mind and ignorance is removed.
The ‘I’-- is self-revealing, unborn, immeasurable. It is the inner presence at the back of every experience, word and speech. The seeker should turn his attention inward. He must focus on the magnificent source of the entire creation, and not on the created objects.
Quoting verses from various scriptures, Swamiji explains the significance of Shraddha (assiduous application of the mind) for gaining knowledge and attaining liberation. Only a seeker who has shraddha, attains knowledge. Shraddha is not a physical expression but a generation of the mind. If coupled with Shraddha and dedication, a seeker achieves sensory regulation, then he attains peace and tranquility.
