In this talk, Swamiji emphasizes that the Upanishadic truth is not a philosophy, but it is about experiencing the Oneness in all the multiplicity of the world. Practicing this truth can alleviate individual and societal problems. It is not a limited practice but it brings profound personal transformation through the understanding of the buddhi (intellect).

Kaivalya Upanishad says that one who perceives the Self in all beings and all beings in the Self, he attains the Self. His differential vision is removed, and he recognizes everything as manifestations of universal consciousness. He sees the ultimate Sama (Atma) everywhere.

The Sadhaka must take to constant, regular Vichara (introspection). This Vichara leads to the refinement of the mind and elimination of Raga-Dvesha (attachment and aversion) from the mind.

Just like fire is hidden in the wood, ‘Atma’ is hidden in our being. But we are unable to get a touch of it because of our entanglement with the world, likes and dislikes, possessiveness etc. Constant Abhyasa (practice) of churning the mind with the knowledge will lead to purification and removal of all bondage. The Upanishad says that the Sadhaka must constantly churn the mind with the Pranava Mantra (OM).
