In these talks, Swamiji delves deep into the mantras of Kaivalya Upanishad and gives great clarity to the listeners. In this session, he reiterates that Ultimate knowledge (jnana) is not a sensory perception. It is a vision of the buddhi (intelligence). By the subtle process of Introspection and purification of the inner personality, one will have the perception of the Supreme Truth.

Replying to a query, Swamiji says that a Knower of Truth also sees and interacts with the same world as the others, but he is not entangled by Sanga (delusional clinging), desires or possessiveness in his behaviour and interactions. A knower’s vision is free of the covering of likes & dislikes, doership and enjoyership. He involves himself in all activities and interactions with a clear vision.

Without the Consciousness there cannot be any experience at all. The whole wakeful creation is an appearance in the Consciousness. In dream, the individual ‘I’ experiences a personal dream world and sleep is a no signal state of the same ‘I’.

The Upanishad says that the Supreme Consciousness which creates the multifarious world, also in association of the body, does everything. In the waking state, the jiva attains satisfaction by enjoying the objects of the world. In the dream state, it feels pleasure and pain in the world created by its own maya. In sleep, everything is dissolved in the consciousness, where the jiva experiences the bliss of his own real nature. The three states appear and disappear in the indivisible Consciousness which is the substratum and the abode of Ananda.
