In this Global Satsang, Nutan Swamiji speaks about the essence of Kaivalya Upanishad and scriptures. He says that Bhakti, the devotion to the Lord or Self, is not merely a philosophical concept but a transformative state of mind. It is complete surrender to the Lord/Self and complete acceptance of the Divine will. True Bhakti leads to Vairagya (freedom from worldly attachments) and Bhakti and Virakti together lead to the experience of the Self.

All Upanishads emphasize that the goal of a seeker is to realize the unity of Brahman and Atma, transcending the limited ego and recognizing the infinite nature of the Self. Sadhana, the spiritual practice, is a process of expanding one's identity to the universal level. Through the Sadhana of reading, chanting, contemplation, and listening, selfishness of the seeker must reduce. The Sadhana must lead a seeker to expansion.

Kaivalya Upanishad says that by perceiving the Self in all beings and all beings in the Self, one attains the Supreme Self, not by any other means. Outlining the Sadhana, it says that by using the tool of Omkara, the seeker must churn his own mind and intelligence to generate the fire of knowledge. By a constant churning of the mind and intelligence, the seeker will become free of all bondage.

Everything (all things external and internal) is appearing in the Chidakasha (Conscious space). It is the essence and substratum of the whole universe. The Upanishad says that from the Brahman or Consciousness everything (external and internal) arises. It is the Subject in which the whole objectude is appearing. It is eternal, beyond time. It is subtler than the subtle. It finally declares: “You are That Brahman alone”.
