Concluding Satsang of Malaysia Jnana Yajna 2023 by Poojya Swamiji on 23 September 2023 at SIRD Malaysia.

In this informal Satsang, Swamiji emphasizes that the body, along with senses, is constituted of only matter and energy and is inert. The body cannot cause any experience, all experiences rest upon the mind. Mind is associated with the body but is not a physical part of the body. The mind employs the body, organs and the senses and it is the seat of all experiences. So, the focus of a seeker of Truth must be the mind. He must seek to bring a qualitative enrichment to the inner personality.

In Yoga Vasistha Ramayana, sage Vasistha says: “In all bodies, what counts primarily is the existence and function of the mind. In all the creepers, plants and trees in the forest, the essence is water. Similarly, in all bodies the most important factor is the mind.”

The sleeping man is not conscious of the body, mind, intelligence or the world. But in a dream, the mind creates a new world. Conversely, when one is unconscious, the body is incapable of doing anything because there is no guidance from the mind. So, the sole factor in all interactions, actions and experiences is the mind. A seeker must be attentive to enrich, empower and expand the mind.

Who is a good performer? The Saatvika performer is one who works without delusional clinging and ego, who is filled with will and fervour and who is unshaken by the success or failure of his actions. Whereas, a Rajasika performer is one who is passionately desirous of the fruits of his actions, who is greedy, violent, and swings between delight and depression.

In conclusion, Swamiji urges listeners to strive for the qualitative growth of the mind. The mind can be imbued with any quality of one’s choice, if one introspects over it and loves the quality.
