In this Global Satsang, Swamiji continues to explain the verse of Bhagavad Gita which says that all the delights born of sense-object contacts are the wombs of misery and they are transitory. All
sensory delights will corrode the senses and take away their power, brilliance, and energy. Quoting Kathopanishad, Swamiji says that all worldly enjoyments will only deplete the power and brilliance of the senses.
Bhagavad Gita says that whoever is able to withstand the urges of passion and anger before his body falls, is spiritually integrated and a happy human. A seeker must sublimate, weaken the influence of Kaama and Krodha (love and hatred) on his mind. With firm resolve, not indulging in Kama and Krodha, he must forbear them. The mind has the capacity to deal with any kind of a problem. There is infinite power and strength in our inner personality.
With senses brought sufficiently under self-control, hence freed from the grip of attraction and repulsion, he who deals with world objects with self-restraint, attains placidity. Raga and Dvesha are emotional urges operating in our mind. A seeker must not come under their sway. Also, the sukha-duhkhas produced by the contact between senses and their objects are transitory and one must
forbear them. One who is not afflicted by the sukha-duhkhas is fit for liberation.
Swamiji urges listeners to understand that the sadhana is to understand the message of the Bhagavad Gita, assimilate it and make it part of one’s inner personality.
