197 – What Bhagavad Gita Wants us to Do | Part 2 I Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha

1105 Views | 1 month ago

Based on Bhagavad Gita, this talk was held on 01 July 2018, at Gita Ashram, Petaling Jaya during Malaysia Jnana Yajna 2018.

In this talk, Swamiji continues to highlight how Bhagavad Gita wants us to live. A seeker must understand that all the wealth and manpower will not give him the courage to withstand external onslaughts. The inner personality must be strengthened and empowered to overcome the most difficult of situations.

Sri Krishna had to bring stability to the grieving mind of Arjuna, clarity to the doubting intelligence of Arjuna. Krishna taught Arjuna to rise to the level of introspection. The entire life is meant to uplift oneself from emotion to introspection—from the mind to the intelligence.

The inner Presence (I) is unchanging, ever-present, unborn, undying, unshakeable. Knowing this, a seeker must remain unshaken, invincible. There may be many difficult situations in life. A seeker must train himself to accept and assimilate the situations and not lose his stability.

How to live life? In the level of the mind, all interactions produce only two results—Sukha or Duhkha. Gita wants us to live courageously and be the master of the world, by developing an even attitude towards sukha and duhkha, considering them to be mutual and complimentary.

Analyzing the human personality, Sri Krishna says that the senses are superior to the world objects; the mind is superior to the senses; the intelligence is superior to the mind and still superior to the intelligence is the ‘I.’ Swamiji emphasizes that the human personality is superior to the infinite world objects. There is no impact from the world which the mind cannot assimilate. So, one must live with a sense of abundance, invincibility.
