In this Satsang, Ma discusses Ishwara Pranidhana or surrender to the Supreme. Surrender is the strong conviction and feeling that God alone is! It is the readiness of the mind to accept and reconcile with all external situations.

True surrender is the fundamental Sadhana of a seeker. He must reflect and dwell on the fact that the Lord is everywhere; he is the source of everything. This knowledge should be applied in all active and interactive moments. The seeker must accept all activities as given by God and do the activities to the best of his ability. Bhagavad Gita says that when the activity is done without any selfish desire or clinging, it becomes an offering to the Lord.

Normally, we have likes, dislikes, preferences and prejudices and we hold on to our wishes and plans. A true seeker must accept all situations and honour them as the Lord’s wish and not hold on to his own plans and wishes. When he is even-minded to whatever comes, it becomes surrender.

True surrender is the understanding that develops through Vichara (introspection). It is the conviction that: ‘I am a product of God. God is my source; he sustains and protects me. I am working because it is designed by God and I am only a tool in his hands.’ When true surrender is there, the ‘I’ness, desires, possessiveness completely dissolve.

Bhagavad Gita says that the Lord is the heart of all beings. All beings are whirling around doing work complying to his wish and will alone. All the bhavas of the mind (like love, like, dislike, sympathy, tolerance, anger, unhappiness) emanate from the one source. So, one must take complete refuge in that Supreme with all the bhavas. Ma urges us to feel the embrace of the lord in all work, in all situations and interactions and to strive to remain surrendered to the Supreme Lord.
