In this session, Swamiji emphasizes that human life is meant for expansion from the individual level to the universal level, which alone makes life meaningful. A human being is different from all other beings on earth. Only in the human body, we can probe into the inner realm and arrive at the supreme Truth, which is denoted by the term ‘I’. By this enquiry, we can understand the full dimension of the ‘I’ and attain an inner fullness.

Although Arjuna was a courageous warrior, he was assailed by grief, doubts, confusion, ignorance, and delusion in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Arjuna acknowledged to Krishna that he was suffering from narrow-mindedness and was confused about the propriety of his actions. He wanted to know what would elevate him and guide him in the path of auspiciousness. So, through the Bhagavad Gita dialogue, the enlightened intelligence of Sri Krishna empowered the mind and intelligence of Arjuna.

The state of mind of Arjuna is not unfamiliar to us. In the battlefield of life, we also are constantly gripped by doubts, grief, and torments. So, Bhagavad Gita is meant to assuage and treat the grief, problems, and afflictions of the human mind. It discusses human life, activities, interactions, and interactional responses and tells us how to live and act in the world and assimilate all the impacts of the world.

Swamiji emphatically states that Hinduism is not a religion, it is a dharmic way of life. Dharma is that which sustains human life. This Hindu dharma was evolved in the pre-historic times by those who dedicated their life to enquiry, and seeking about the purpose of human life. Hinduism has the Prasthana Traya—the Upanishads, Brahma Sutras and Bhagavad Gita which only speak about the oneness or unity in all the diversity of the world.
