Ma Gurupriya ji's reflections on Poojya Swamiji's morning messages (Prabhata Rashmih)
Date: 15 October 2024
Venue: Vijnana Bhavana, Narayanashrama Tapovanam

In this Satsang, Ma reads out and explains a chapter titled ‘Self-generated Benediction’ (from Poojya Swamiji’s book ‘Prabhata Rashmih-Vol1’), where he emphasizes that devotion is generated when we think of and connect with the Self/God. To generate devotion, one must get anchored in the Supreme, which is the cause of the entire universe. Only when the mind contemplates on the ultimate presence, devotion grows.

Shastras repeatedly tell us that the Supreme is the source of everything and everything is activated by this presence. The Supreme is the sustainer of the world, the ultimate refuge of all beings. It is the imperishable, absolute presence which is to be known. It is ever-present and pervades the whole universe.

If a seeker can think that he is living and doing everything for the sake of the supreme presence from whom everything has emerged, he is bound to feel sublime. He must acknowledge the presence of the supreme in everything, in all actions and interactions. If one lives and does everything for one’s own parents, partner, or children, then the mind and heart will remain constricted. It will not generate much loftiness and sublimity.

The sadhaka does not need to look at the external world for inspiration and encouragement. All the required inspiration, devotion, sublimity, and divinity can be generated within himself. Ma urges seekers to understand that one must introspect constantly that everything we have is given by the Supreme. This Vichara or introspection is a powerful and stable method of generating sublimity.
