In this Satsang, Swamiji emphasizes that whatever Yogis and saints attain through a life of contemplation and meditation, can be attained in active and interactive life.
When one has an integrated personality, his mind will be calm and peaceful. For such a person, the supreme self is attained. While interacting with others he may face pairs of opposites like Sukha-duhkha, respect-disrespect, but he will equally feel the presence of the self in all the pairs of opposites and will float in spiritual ecstasy.
A Yogi who is contented, by means of knowledge and the realization of that knowledge, remains unshakeable in all situations, like the blacksmith’s anvil. He has gained mastery over his senses. Such an integrated person will be able to look at a clod of earth, a piece of stone or gold alike.
Scriptures speak about the quality of contentment which can emerge only from within. For a person who has discovered the Self within, the material treasures of all the three worlds are of no use and he does not seek favours from wealthy people. Shankaracharya says that there is infinite bliss within. When the mind is drowned in the inner bliss, there is no world and no separateness. The Consciousness is fuller than fullness; it is superior to the Absolute; it is immeasurable. This ocean of consciousness is free from any waves, breakers or tides; it is like the splendour of a crore of suns, whose rays are spreading in all directions.
Those who have mentally renounced all possessions, and float in inner ecstasy and contentment, roam around free from all anxiety. They always revel in the pronouncements of the Upanishads; they are content with the alms they receive. Such Yogis move about in the ecstasy of Brahman, chanting the purifying monosyllable ‘Om.’
