In this Satsang, Swamiji reiterates that the whole of spiritual sadhana is one of expansion and sublimation. Spiritual sadhana is not to know something different from ourselves. It is to know our own real identity. As we progress in the Sadhana, the understanding about our own identity undergoes a change. Finally, we come to know that this ‘I’ can not be known as something different from us. There is no difference of subject and object in the final level.

The Upanishad speaks about the three aspects of the Truth, the Consciousness. It is Satyam (never-changing), Jnanam (Knowledge) and it is Anantam (infinite). How to discover this Consciousness? A seeker must look within to know the Truth, which is hidden in the cave of the mind and intelligence.

When he looks within, he discovers the universal, expansive, infinite ‘I’, Consciousness. In this state, there is no subject and object division; he gets dissolved in the Consciousness. This discovery makes him also infinite, universal. Immediately, all his desires are fulfilled and his mind pulsates with the universal tune of Brahman. When he reaches this state of union, oneness, all his delusions fall and he does all work in a natural manner. He is constantly in tune with the fundamental rhythm of creation.

In the second part of the second Anuvaka, the Upanishad says that whole creation starts from the unchanging, infinite Brahman. From the Atma, space is born; from space the life forces are born; from the life forces, fire is born; from fire, water is born; from water, earth is born; from earth various herbs are created and from them food is created. From the food, comes the Purusha (the self in the individual personality). Swamiji explains that the whole cycle starts with Atma in the cosmic sense and finishes in the personal level. The Personal Atma has the capability to realize its cosmic dimension.
