Day 3 of a 3 day talk series by Poojya Swamiji on Bhagavad Gita, during Malaysia Jnana Yajan 2024
Date: 05 September 2024
Venue: SIRD, Malaysia
In this Satsang, Swamiji highlights the constricted mindset of Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra. Arjuna took a selfish stand, thinking that they were going to bring about mass destruction to gain the kingdom. In his message, Krishna targeted Arjuna’s selfishness and instilled a universal and collective vision in him.
All human beings have a similar body, mind, and intelligence. Everything is collective, not individual or constricted. The Self (‘I’) is the same in all beings and the Self is eternal, unchanging, and all-pervading. A seeker must strive to understand the universal dimension of the ‘I’.
What is life? Life is an interaction between the senses and the world and this interaction produces only sukha or duhkha for every human. This understanding gives us a universal vision and we understand that we are inter-connected with all beings in the world. Sukha and duhkha are inevitable resultants of all interactions and a seeker must be their witness and must float over them. When one is not tormented by sukha or duhkha and has evenness for them, he is harmonious and free.
Understanding this collectiveness and universalness of human life, a seeker must take interest in the welfare of all. When a seeker attains the ultimate freedom, he starts serving the physical, material, mental, and intelligential needs of all people.
Bhagavad Gita says that seeker must perceive the Self everywhere, and everything in the Self. He must perceive the same Self in Sukha as well as duhkha. Swamiji exhorts everyone to understand its universal dimension and be free of all constrictions, selfishness.
