Understand the mind has abundant resilience to assimilate this and greatly more. If it is able to imprint the endless expanse of space, the huge seas and mountains, what should be its potential and vastness?
Dear Swamiji,
… What if all seems hopeless? Your life takes a turn for the worse, and your own daughter hates you, and wants nothing to do with you! Then what? Where is God? Does He at least understand what it means? Where is goodness of life? How do you get through this pain?
Yours, R

Dear and blessed Soul R,
Harih Om Tat Sat. Your email of 6th is before me. I read it again. Dear son, instances of this kind are strange, irregular, but do transpire in life. Understand the mind has abundant resilience to assimilate this and greatly more. If it is able to imprint the endless expanse of space, the huge seas and mountains, what should be its potential and vastness?
Within it, the mind imprints a mustard and mountain alike, showing clearly its flexibility and capacity.
Give everyone the freedom to like or to dislike you. But inwardly, in your heart, like one and all. Let there be no dislike-feeling within you towards others. Mind should make a provision for all kinds of people, including those who dislike you.
Ask a question to yourself: If anyone, including your daughter, does not like you, why should she come to you at all? Why should you go to her too? You should wish to see those who like you. Those who dislike you, need not and should not come to you at all.
If and when her dislike subsides and she wishes to see you, she is welcome too. At that time, embrace her with open arms, unreservedly. Till then give her the distance she needs – but with understanding. Herein lies the success and strength of human life. This is true of anyone and towards anyone.
Confidence is the key to successful living.
The stars come nightly to the sky
The tidal waves unto the sea;
So flows the good with equal law
Unto the Soul of pure delight.
(from ‘In Tune with the Infinite’ by R W Trine)
So be good and ensure your delight is pure.
Like physical and chemical laws, this is the inner, mental law, which governs human life on this planet. Know it and rely upon it, fondly and wholesomely. Dejection is a creation of the mind, hope and joy are equally so. The choice is thus clear, distinct, doubtless.
Write to me, when needed. My fond blessings.
Antarātmā,
Swamiji
